Discover The Politics of Daily Life in SCHUNCK's stairwell. Artists give their views on how the Statute for the Kingdom affects social and cultural reality.
Since 1954, the Statute regulates the state structure between the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten. It defines the balance between autonomy and connectedness, a relationship that is in constant flux. But what does this mean for everyday life?
This presentation artfully explores how administrative, economic and social power relations colour reality. Through murals in the Glass Palace, Christopher Pablo, Elijah Nicholas, Marcel van den Berg and Ruthvienca Pietersz show their views on the influence of the Statute on the dynamics within the Kingdom.
According to curator Raenys Martis, this project offers space for dialogue, reflection and confrontation. Come, see and think along.
