You will enjoy a concert by the award-winning ensemble Duo Volante, featuring flutist Beate Matvejeva and guitarist Alejandro Balfagón.
The programme includes, among others, Béla Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances: energetic and rhythmical works full of folk-music influences. You will also hear a selection from Robert Beaser’s Mountain Songs, with intimate and expressive melodies inspired by the American mountain landscape, as well as the tangos of Astor Piazzolla, full of passion and character.
A special highlight is a new work by Spanish composer Mario Carro, written for alto flute and guitar. In this piece, Spanish and Japanese influences come together in a colourful and rhythmical interplay.
Programme:
– Béla Bartók – Romanian Folk Dances
– Astor Piazzolla – Histoire du Tango
– Mario Carro – Haiku del aire (2012), for alto flute and guitar
– Robert Beaser – Mountain Songs
