Tourist Working Group Maaskentj has developed a special family tour in collaboration with the municipality of Stein, Visit Zuid-Limburg and Buiten Zinnen: the Auvermenkes Mystery.
A unique activity of about two hours in and around Stein Castle, for young and old. Armed with a backpack full of attributes, including a metal detector, you will search for the underground corridor of the Auvermenkes in various ways.
Old stories show that Auvermenkes lived in and around Stein Castle a long time ago. They lived in the cellars of the castle where they did all kinds of odd jobs.
These gnomes were mainly busy at night and were not only small but often also invisible. They lived in secret underground cellars and corridors that still exist today but are often untraceable.
During this activity you will look for the entrance to such a secret underground passage! To discover these you will do five different assignments in and around the area of the Fountain.
Each solution of an assignment will help you a little further and eventually you will find yourself in front of the secret entrance to an underground passage.
Musical knowledge, puzzling, searching for letters in different places and you get to work with the metal detector. You will need all these competencies to find the solution.
This activity is suitable as a family outing, team building, group outing or family day and takes two to two and a half hours.
Suitable for small and large groups and fun for young and old!
