Bull's eye! Every third Sunday of the month, the “Archers of the Heerlijkheid Hoensbroek” take over the castle grounds. They will transport you to the medieval world of archery and show you their impressive skills!
Dare to hit the bull’s-eye yourself!
The archers of the Heerlijkheid Hoensbroek, dressed in their historical costumes, provide explanations for visitors and showcase their impressive accuracy. In historical times, archers ensured that there was food on the lord’s table. Today, the archers of Hoensbroek Castle mainly provide smiling faces and a fun challenge for the public.
During this Sunday, you can also learn archery yourself from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and discover everything about this centuries-old sport.
The archers shoot with different types of bows, such as the traditional longbow, but also use recurve bows.
In addition, there are several targets with varying levels of difficulty:
For children aged 4 to 8, there is a small wooden castle where participants can use a crossbow to knock down wooden figures.
For ages 9 and up, there are distant targets to shoot at with arrows using a recurve bow.
For those seeking more of a challenge, there are also several 3D targets.
