Discover the remarkable life story of St Edith Stein in Echt. During a guided tour, you’ll learn more about this fascinating woman, who became a victim of the Nazi regime because of her Jewish heritage and steadfast faith and was killed in Auschwitz.

The route takes you to several places, including the chapel of the Karmel, where Edith Stein lived until her deportation in 1942. In the pilgrimage church of H. Landricus, you can admire a remarkable triptych, her original choir mantle, several relics and two stained-glass windows depicting her life. You can also light a special Edith Stein candle here.

Finally, at the Museum van de vrouw, you’ll find several special objects in the Wonderkabinet that commemorate this important former resident of Echt.
