The Fluweelengrot is one of the oldest underground tunnel systems in South Limburg. Experience for yourself the stories of the block breakers, the hiding places, paintings and sculptures. Go back to the time of knights and damsels at the Castle Ruin!

Stroll through the knights' hall, the armoury and the chapel of the Netherlands' only high castle; the beacon of Valkenburg aan de Geul since 1050. Many battles were fought there, but in 1672 it was blown up by order of Stadtholder William III.
