MergelRijk is one of the most fun caves to visit in Valkenburg aan de Geul, both for adults and children. You go on an adventure in an old historic marl cave where you really learn all about marl and caves.

In an interactive and creative way, where the experience is central, you will discover all the stories and secrets of the marl and caves of Valkenburg aan de Geul. One of the highlights is a life-size sculpture of the famous Night Watch painting, carved out of marl.

You can also search for fossils in the marl cave, test your knowledge with the interactive tablets and make your own free marl souvenir. From 22 June, spectacular 3D cave paintings can be seen on the walls, ceilings and floors of part of the MergelRijk caves. These cave paintings have been created by some of the best 3D artists in the world.

You can see the 3D paintings at their best by taking a photo! This makes for countless unforgettable moments during and after your visit to MergelRijk.
