The Miljoenenlijn is a beautiful railway line running straight through the South Limburg hilly landscape. Step aboard the steam train at Station Simpelveld, which is over 100 years old, let yourself be carried through the enchanting scenery, and take a nostalgic journey back in time. Experience the romance of travel from bygone days and dream away in the luxurious plush seats of the first-class carriages...

The large railway yard at Simpelveld Station is well worth exploring: a lively place where long coal trains once departed for the north and where travelers began their journeys to distant European destinations.

Did you know that Station Simpelveld is the oldest border station in the Netherlands? It is located on the former Aachen–Maastricht railway line, the first international railway line in the Netherlands (dating back to 1853)! That is why it is equipped with a large customs office with an inspection hall, and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee also had a post here.

Also pay a visit to the depot and workshop, where all rolling stock is maintained by enthusiastic volunteers. Afterwards, you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee with Limburgse vlaai in the cozy station restaurant.
