Tom Dumoulin Bike Park

The Tom Dumoulin Bike Park is an innovative, high-quality and world-leading trail, completely tailored to the needs of cycling and its many target groups: from cyclists to mountain bikers and BMX riders, from junior amateurs to elite professionals from all over the world.

In an area of 6 hectares, a trail of 3.2 kilometers has been laid out. Different types of road surface, including a real cobblestone strip(!), various Limburg landscapes, height differences and technical bends make it possible to ride courses with different technical difficulties. The height differences vary from gradients of 1 to 2.5% to the outdoor category of a maximum of 22.5%.

The fenced track makes it possible to train numerous situations that riders may encounter on the public road. Ideal for gaining experience and training skills in a safe, innovative environment. The terrain is also suitable for official UCI competitions, thanks in part to the wide start and finish street and the time registration loops that have been incorporated into the course. In addition to the cycling course, there is also a mountain bike course.

Different landscapes are simulated within the Tom Dumoulin Bike Park, in order to make the experience for the riders as realistic as possible. The choice was made for the typical landscape features of North, Central and South Limburg. For example, the course in 'North Limburg' is mainly open, so that riders really feel the changing weather conditions (such as rain, strong wind or bright sun). In 'Midden-Limburg' the riders cycle along water and winding rows of trees. While in 'South Limburg' the challenge lies in the steep differences in height.

Fifty different routes can be set out on this largest, safe cycling environment in the Netherlands, six of which can be run simultaneously. This allows various target groups to use the Tom Dumoulin Bike Park at Sportzone Limburg, in Sittard-Geleen, at the same time.
