Waterwerken, het verfbekken

A work of art in the form of a paint basin (Färberbecken') has been laid out in the inner courtyard of the town hall. This waterwork is a unique element and symbolizes the painting of Von Clermont. By means of a special construction, it seems as if the cloths are washed, using the colors that were also used in the past in the dyeing industry.

Red was the color for precious fabrics. A walkway of concrete stone has been laid out in the courtyard, the paint basin itself is surrounded by natural stone. The large chestnut tree in the courtyard has, of course, been retained as an image-defining element. On Julianaplein there is also a fountain field with 44 nozzles which are lit up in the evening by the most beautiful colors.
