29th Aachener Kunstroute: 400 artists at 46 locations

During the last weekend of September, Aachen will once again be transformed into one large art landscape – with free admission and around 50 events showcasing art from a wide range of disciplines.

More than 400 artists, 46 locations, around 50 events and three days filled with art: from 25 to 27 September, the 29th Aachener Kunstroute will take place. Museums, galleries, artist-run initiatives, artists’ groups and special cultural venues will open their doors and present a broad spectrum of contemporary art. Admission to all locations is free.

The event kicks off with a vernissage on Friday 25 September at 8 pm in the historic Aula Carolina, Pontstraße 9. On Saturday and Sunday, all locations will be open from 11 am to 6 pm. Some exhibition venues even invite you to visit until 10 pm on Saturday.

Once again this year, the Aachener Kunstroute brings together the established art scene and new artistic perspectives. Alongside well-known museums and art venues, new galleries, artist-run initiatives and artists’ groups will also take part.

In addition, numerous unusual spaces will open their doors especially for this weekend. These include studios, bunkers, museums, courtyards and workshops. You can discover artistic ceramics, photography, sculptures, jewellery art, painting, printmaking and much more.

The Kunstroute also has a strong international focus: artists from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands are represented, as well as artists from outside the region, including Lithuania and the Czech Republic. Fortunately, creativity knows no borders.
