Gestures as Portals is a research project and ongoing performance by choreographer and dancer Amparo González Sola.
The month-long performance takes place during the dismantling of the exhibition Vultures & Fireflies by Mexican artist Alejandro Galván. You encounter the performers in a house where remnants of the exhibition are still visible, alongside traces of the dismantling and empty spaces.
The performance arises from the growing sense of distance in a world in which terrible events are constantly projected onto your retina via the media, an endless stream of images that present themselves at high speed and are stripped of context, causing your ability to feel to seem to freeze.
How close must something happen before you feel a connection or a sense of responsibility? With workshops and artist talks at selected times during the week.
Opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Open until 8 p.m. on Fridays. Free admission: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
