On Saturday 20 December at 3 p.m., the Recreational Run through the historic centre of Sittard will commence. The route runs along the city walls and through charming streets, finishing at the Market Square, which will be decorated in the Christmas spirit. 

The Run gives a nod to the Winter Olympics in Milan: during this event, you collect Olympic Rings. Beforehand, you indicate how many times you want to run the approximately two-kilometre course. 

Each time you pass the start/finish line, you will receive a ring, up to a maximum of five rings. These symbolise the distance completed: one lap = approximately two kilometres, two = approximately four kilometres, three = approximately six kilometres, four = approximately eight kilometres and five = approximately ten kilometres. 

Afterwards, you can use the rings you have collected to win prizes in a ring toss game, provided by businesses in the centre of Sittard.
