On Sunday 14 December, Boekhandel Dominicanen in Maastricht will host the presentation of Tussen het geboomte (Among the Trees) by photographer Sander Philippen. 

In this beautiful book, designed by Bert van der Veur, Sander Philippen invites you to enjoy the discoveries he made in places such as the Hochter Bampd nature reserve in Belgian Limburg and the Severenpark on the outskirts of Maastricht. 

He photographs trees in all their variations, in full glory or fighting for their existence, in his characteristic style of thoughtful observation and intense tranquillity. You can see how meticulously this photographer has gone about his work. 

With a keen eye, he has captured not only the physical and ecological power of trees, but also their eventual decline. Tussen het geboomte includes several poems by Frans Budé, who was inspired by the work of Sander Philippen.
