Born to Play

Born to Play

Avenue Céramique 250
Maastricht
Discover how artists use play to create art. This exhibition has been specially developed for children aged 6 to 12. Born to Play invites you to act and dare like an artist!

From the moment you are born, you play. Alone or together. Outdoors or indoors, with objects, with your body, or even with a computer. Playing helps you discover how the world works. Being an artist is, in fact, one big game. This exhibition has been specially developed with and for children aged 6 to 12.

In Born to Play, you are invited not only to look, but also to take part. A colourful play trail on the floor guides you past real artworks and interactive activities. Make rubbings from the textures of objects such as a license plate, feel different materials in the sensory boxes, step into someone else’s shoes by dressing up, play with light in the shadow game, help build an endless puzzle, or play a game.

Four themes
The team invites you to play! Throughout the exhibition, a colourful trail on the floor shows you the way through four themes:

Breaking the rules
Free play
Stepping into someone else’s shoes
Pixel fun
