On 3 May, the Theresia Church in Maastricht will fill with the sounds of Carmina Burana when more than 200 musicians perform together.
The Eindhoven Student Music Company Quadrivium and Philips' Philharmonic Choir will bring this monumental composition by Carl Orff to life in an impressive line-up.
The performance is part of Quadrivium's 60th anniversary. A wind orchestra, large choir, three soloists, children's choir, two grand pianos and a celesta shape this compelling project. More than a hundred students from Eindhoven University of Technology are taking part.
Carmina Burana is among the best-known classical works of the 20th century. The opening chorus O Fortuna can be heard in films and series and is recognisable by its rousing rhythms and powerful choral sounds.
The concert will take place on 3 May at the Theresia Church in Maastricht. Tickets are available at an accessible price via the website.
