What if you could pour meaning from a small jug, or dispense divine power from a soap pump? In Godsvermogen, artist, poet, and bronze caster Maarten van den Berg shows how language and bronze come together.

Everyday words and images are cast into poetic sculptures in which the ordinary and the sublime meet. The exhibition offers you insight into Van den Berg’s craftsmanship through wax models, moulds, film, and photography, and places the craft of bronze casting within the industrial history of Maastricht.

Godsvermogen is an ode to material, craftsmanship, and meaning, and forms part of the exhibition series by Bureau Europa on material and craft.
