Kennedy-Mars Sittard: the ultimate challenge for walking enthusiasts!
On Easter Saturday, thousands of walkers take on the challenge of the Kennedy-Mars Sittard: an iconic 80-kilometre walk through the beautiful landscapes of Dutch and Belgian Limburg.
Starting and finishing at the atmospheric Markt in Sittard, the event also offers shorter distances, including the Swentibold-Mars (40 kilometres) and the Mini-Mars (10 kilometres).
Since 1963, the Kennedy-Mars has been renowned for its sporting character, unique atmosphere and sense of camaraderie among walkers of all levels. The varied route passes through distinctive places such as the white town of Thorn and the Belgian border town of Maaseik.
Along the way, well-known challenges await, including the bridge at Wessem, the cobblestones in Thorn and the often strong headwinds along the Maas. Thanks to the lively towns and villages along the route, enthusiastic supporters and excellent organisation, the atmosphere remains fantastic throughout.
An unforgettable walking experience for every active enthusiast.
