Jan Kortie is coming to Meerssen! During this mantra evening, you sing simple unison and easy polyphonic mantras and other melodies from different traditions and cultures, in various languages, guided by Jan Kortie.
Sometimes the music is calming, sometimes joyful and exuberant. In the simplicity of singing, space arises and sometimes moments of deep connection. You don’t need any singing experience for an authentic sound, you don’t have to try hard. Anyone can quickly join in. The texts are short, often just a single sentence, set to melodies you immediately recognize.
In between the singing, there is silence. This alternation makes both the silence and the singing even more powerful. Jan Kortie, founder of Voice Liberation, will guide this evening for the first time at this special location in Limburg.
In the afternoon, there is also a voice liberation workshop You Are Music with Jan Kortie. Together they form a beautiful whole, but both parts of the day can also be followed separately.
