A bicycle courier from New York (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) receives an envelope from a young woman at a university on the outskirts of Manhattan and is told he has 90 minutes to deliver it to an address in Chinatown. Complications arise when an undercover police officer appears and demands the envelope under unusual circumstances.
Through a series of flashbacks, the truth, hidden motives and life-or-death stakes are revealed. Meanwhile, the courier and the officer become involved in an intense chase throughout Manhattan, racing against the clock after the courier discovers the valuable nature of the envelope’s seemingly insignificant contents.
