Musica Sacra Maastricht 2026 – mark your calendar!
For more than forty years, Musica Sacra has been a unique and inspiring festival, deeply rooted in Maastricht and now renowned nationwide.
Every year, during the third weekend of September, the city transforms for three days into a meeting place for music, art and reflection. The theme for 2026 is Ecstasy!
The music programme forms the heart of the festival and offers a rich mix of styles: from Gregorian chant to pop, from classical music to world music, and from folk singing to experimental sound art. In this way, tradition and innovation meet.
In addition to music, there is space for poetry, film, visual arts, theatre and dance. The programme takes place at remarkable locations in and around Maastricht, such as churches, castles, theatres and museums.
Musica Sacra invites visitors to experience Zuid-Limburg as a place where music, culture and contemplation come together.
