Open tuin De Grenstuin tijdens Ecotuindagen

Grenstuin, Brederostraat 19
Brunssum
During the Ecotuindagen organised by Velt, you are invited to take a guided walk through the edible and animal-friendly Grenstuin. Wander through the garden at your own pace and find one of the many peaceful spots to enjoy the diversity this garden has to offer.

The garden features an ornamental garden, a vegetable garden, ponds with small streams, a wildflower meadow, and runner ducks roaming freely across the grounds. The owners garden according to permaculture principles.

Examples include eight-layer gardening, rainwater management, composting (including bokashi and a worm hotel), a large deadwood hedge, food production for both people and animals through annual and perennial edible plants, different mulching methods, and companion planting and crop rotation in the vegetable garden.

Examples of depaving and water management include three 1,000-litre water tanks, a WADI, and unpaved paths. The garden is not accessible for people with limited mobility. Dogs are not allowed due to the presence of runner ducks and the owners’ Kooikerhondje.

Free parking is available at the parking area on Akerstraat opposite house number 132. Open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
