On Wednesday 9 July, two young soloists will perform at a concert in the church in Eys in the evening.
Poppeia Berden will play the organ and Valérie Stammet will sing a number of arias. They will perform a varied programme of mainly Baroque music pieces. The concert starts at 8pm and lasts an hour. Admission is free, but a free gift is appreciated.
Poppeia Berden graduated from the Maastricht Academy of Music last year. She was recently appointed organist at Onze Lieve Vrouw in Maastricht. She teaches organ at the music academy in Maaseik. Apart from regular performances, she also makes an effort to bring the organ to the attention of children with special programmes.
Valérie Stammet comes from Luxembourg, where she received her basic training. She is a soprano. In Maastricht, she studied singing with Yvonne Schiffelers. She performs as a soloist in song programmes and also sings regularly with the Studium Chorale choir.
