Under the direction of conductor Lodewijk van der Ree, supported by répétiteur Catelijn van Berkel and vocal coach Nathan Tax, 32 young singers from the NSK take you on a musical journey exploring the shifting relationship between humans and nature.
The programme, filled with contemporary music, explores sharp contrasts: vulnerability and strength, threat and comfort, stillness and eruption. Director Mirte Bulsink weaves singing and movement together into a surprising and cohesive whole.
Remarkable works include Privilege by Ted Hearne — an arrangement of Bridge Over Troubled Water — and a new composition by Eva Beunk. The choir performs together with horn player Noor Huls, who plays a key role both as a soloist and in dialogue with the choir.
