Virtuosic storytelling and musicality come together in Sibelius's Violin Concerto and the symphonic poems of Richard Strauss.

There are certain masterpieces that no violin soloist can ignore. With his Violin Concerto, the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius created a bold and modern work, filled with dazzling virtuosity.

A concerto of Beethovenian stature, it demands the utmost from both the soloist and the orchestra. The young Swedish violinist Ava Bahari takes on this remarkable challenge.

No one brings stories to life quite like Richard Strauss. With his flowing, lyrical style and radiant harmonies, he firmly established the symphonic poem as a major musical genre.

Philzuid presents no fewer than two of Strauss's symphonic poems: Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche and Don Juan.
