Music has a unique power to uplift and inspire. Philzuid captivates audiences with, among other works, Stravinsky's Firebird Suite and Elgar's Cello Concerto.

With his sublime Firebird Suite, Igor Stravinsky transports every listener into a state of enchantment. The music's driving pulse and vibrant energy leave no one untouched. When the ballet premiered in 1910, it marked the breakthrough of the young and daring Stravinsky.

Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto evokes that same intense emotional power. Completed in 1919, it was the last large-scale orchestral work Elgar finished and became his way of coming to terms with the horrors of the First World War.

The soloist is the Belgian-Israeli cellist Liav Kerbel, while the podium is taken by the young Finnish conductor Emilia Hoving.
