With music by Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev, Philzuid pays tribute to the symphonic storytelling of two great Russian masters. Symphonic Dances, composed in 1940–41, proved to be Rachmaninoff's final creative farewell to the world.

For forty unforgettable minutes, he immerses the audience in a breathtaking symphonic journey. Across its three movements, Rachmaninoff's rich Romantic style takes on a more refined and streamlined form, resulting in music of sweeping, cinematic power.

Prokofiev, too, experienced a remarkable creative resurgence in the final years of his life. One of his greatest achievements is the lyrical cello masterpiece Sinfonia Concertante, an ambitious fusion of symphony and cello concerto that surprised audiences with its originality and scale.

The solo part is performed by the young, award-winning cellist Ivan Karizna.
