For forty years, the band Rowwen Hèze has been the sound of the countryside. Their music is passed down from generation to generation.

As Rowwen Hèze prepares for their biggest hometown performance ever, in celebration of their 40th anniversary, the dynamics between the band members are laid bare.

What began as a friendship has since become a marriage, complete with its moments of tension. By working on new music, the band members try to reconnect with each other time and again.

This documentary by Ruud Lenssen (Wei) follows the band that has captured the soul of North Limburg for forty years, in both rousing party songs and sensitive ballads.
