The Dutch artist Vibeke Mascini presents Daisychain, her solo exhibition in the Coach House at Kasteel Wijlre estate. Mascini, whose work was previously featured in We Live Here Too, presents new work that invites you to explore the relationship between energy and memory.
In her installations, Mascini makes the often invisible yet fundamental role of energy in the world perceptible. By interweaving natural processes with technological systems, she reveals how memories – biological, individual and digital – depend on continuous flows of energy. Here, you encounter energy not only as a physical phenomenon, but also as a carrier of emotion and meaning.
As you move through the exhibition, you discover a spatial network of interconnected installations in which natural and synthetic environments merge into one another. A hybrid landscape emerges, inviting you to consider questions of dependency, sustainability and the fragile infrastructures that support the existence.
Daisychain allows you to experience how energy, matter and memory are inextricably linked. The exhibition invites you to reflect on the vulnerability of these relationships and on the visible and invisible networks that connect you to others and to your environment.
