Experience Roman Heerlen as you walk. In 2026, no fewer than 13 new walking routes will be launched through the beautiful South Limburg landscape.

You get the unique opportunity to be among the first to join a special walk through Heerlen. Enjoy a 5 km walk guided by an experienced IVN guide, with attention to both nature and history.

Along the way, the Roman past comes to life: through the VIA VIA–Via Belgica app, the Roman potter Lucius takes you along with fascinating audio stories about life in Roman Heerlen.

As if that weren’t enough, you will even meet real Romans along the route, surprising you with a story or a small tasting.
