Also in 2026, thousands of monuments throughout the Netherlands will once again open their doors free of charge to visitors during the VriendenLoterij Open Monumentendag.
On 12 and 13 September, the event celebrates its 40th edition, with the central theme ‘Resilient Heritage in Times of Uncertainty’. The festive national opening will take place on Friday, 11 September, in Flevoland, the host province of this anniversary year.
