Every four years, the international wind music community gathers in Kerkrade for the Wereld Muziek Concours (WMC). From 9 July to 2 August, the world's largest stage for concert bands, fanfare bands, brass bands, percussion ensembles and marching & show bands comes alive once again.
During this four-week festival, the absolute elite of the wind music world competes for the highly coveted world championship title within their discipline. But WMC is much more than a competition: it is a unique total experience filled with musical spectacle, international encounters and groundbreaking concerts throughout the region.
Wind music is alive. In fact, it is thriving like never before. And WMC 2026 is where that flame burns brightest. Four weeks of spectacle, top-quality music, fresh vibes, amazing shows and unforgettable encounters in the heart of Kerkrade.

Concert Competitions
Globally renowned. Leading orchestras and ensembles from the Netherlands and abroad compete in the Concert Band, Fanfare Band, Brass Band and Percussion Ensemble sections. Experience performances of the highest level, where emotion and communication take centre stage.
Marching & Show Competitions
Visual, energetic and spectacular! Bands from all over the world transform the stadium into a vibrant parade of music, colour, rhythm and movement. Every performance is an exhilarating experience.
Concerts
During WMC 2026, you can enjoy an impressive series of concerts featuring top ensembles from around the globe. From powerful concert bands to unique international productions, every evening offers something different.
BLOW! WMC óp d’r Maat and in ’t Sjtadspark
Alongside the official competitions at Parkstad Limburg Stadion, Rodahal and HuB., the outdoor festival BLOW! takes place from 9 July to 2 August on the Markt and in the Stadspark. Whether you are returning home to Kerkrade or visiting from afar, this is the place where everyone comes together during WMC 2026.
A packed Markt, a welcoming atmosphere and the very best music. Combine BLOW! with competitions and concerts, or simply come for the music and conviviality. In the Stadspark, a small-scale lounge concept creates a relaxed setting, where local entrepreneurs provide a charming ambiance with carefully selected wines, drinks and lightly amplified music, including the WMC Fringe programme. Admission is completely free.
