Fietsroute - Fietsen door Romeins Riemst

Fietsroute - Fietsen door Romeins Riemst

With its international border crossing from Zuid-Limburg to Belgium, the Via Belgica lives up to its name. Many years ago, France, Belgium, parts of the Netherlands and Germany, all belonged to the Roman Empire. On this cycle tour you will explore the Belgian municipality of Riemst – the area between the cities of Maastricht and Tongeren. You will get a taste of rural ‘settlements’ like Millen, Genoelselderen, Herderen, Val-Meer and, of course, Riemst itself. You can park at Millen Castle, locally known as Waterburcht, (Kattenstraat 22, Riemst).
