Mergelland hoen route Eijsden-Margraten

Whether you prefer bike racing through sunken lanes, or comfortably cycling your E-bike uphill, the Mergelland Fowl Route has a lot to offer to any type of cyclist. The start of this cycle route is at the charming village of Noorbeek. There is ample parking at ‘Café D’r Pley’. As soon as you get over the Belgian border, you cycle through rolling hills, adorned with vast fields and stretches of lush woodland. After passing the magical Hoogcruts Monastery and the typical Limburg villages of Terlinden, Banholt and Sint Geertruid, you reach the elegant castle of Mheer, before returning in Noorbeek.

Along the way there is a variety of cafés with outdoor terraces, for a relaxing break. Especially the Limburg fruit flans (vlaaien) and the waffles with strawberries at ‘De Zeute Aardbei’ in Noorbeek, are a feast for your taste buds.
