Discovery Museum aims to be a place where everyone feels welcome. As Discovery Museum is a stimulating environment, you may experience extra stimuli during a standard visit. To minimise this, stimulus-friendly museum visits are organised. This marks the next step in our diversity and inclusion policy.
During a low-stimulation museum visit, various stimuli are deliberately reduced. The museum is then considerably quieter than usual. Please bear in mind that Discovery Museum remains a family museum where young and old are welcome, so it will not be completely low-stimulation or silent.
In 2026, stimulus-friendly days will take place on Sunday 22 March, Saturday 27 June and Sunday 27 September. On these days, you can visit the Discovery Museum between 11.00 and 17.00.
On the website, you’ll find a step-by-step guide and a digital tour to help you prepare for your visit. It also includes information about the exhibits and stimuli you can expect.
