The Amstel Gold Race is the most famous annually recurring cycling classic in the Netherlands and the only Dutch one-day race in the UCI World Tour.
The race has been organised since 1966, and in 2026 the 60th edition is already on the calendar. Not only on Sunday, but the entire South Limburg region revolves around the Amstel Gold Race throughout the whole weekend. There is plenty to experience, and the cycling weekend has grown into an event of world-class level.
This year, Limburg will once again be dedicated to the Amstel Gold Race on 18 and 19 April. On Saturday, the Toerversie Amstel Gold Race offers a platform where no fewer than 15,000 international recreational cyclists will participate.
At the start location, you will receive a race number, handlebar plate, route description, sports nutrition and drinks. Along the route, you will find various service points with repair facilities, toilets, fruit, sports nutrition and drinks, as well as medical assistance.
In addition, technical support is available along the route and at the service points by clearly recognisable motorcyclists and mechanics from Shimano. On behalf of the organisation, motorcyclists from Stichting Motard Stein are also present on the routes to assist you. Instructions from these motards must be strictly followed.
At the finish, you will receive a souvenir of the Toerversie Amstel Gold Race. Photos are also taken of every participant along the route, and there is an opportunity to take a photo with the podium hostesses. You can find the photos afterwards via Sportograf.
On Sunday, the world’s best men and women will compete for first place in Limburg’s only cycling classic. More than 250,000 visitors travel to various locations across Limburg in April to experience the Amstel Gold Race and the Amstel Gold Race Ladies Edition live.
