Experience the power of music in Kerkrade – without competition, with plenty of inspiration

During the World Music Contest, the city comes alive with music. On the Market Square, in the Park and at unique locations throughout Kerkrade, dozens of international bands and orchestras perform as part of the WMC Fringe Festival.

What is Fringe?
WMC Fringe was launched during the World Music Contest 2022 and immediately became one of the festival’s most popular features. Hundreds of musicians from around the world bring their music to the streets and squares of Kerkrade – free from the pressure of competition, purely for the joy of performing and connecting with audiences.

In 2026, Fringe will be bigger than ever: four weekends of live music at multiple locations across the city. Free and open to everyone.
