The World Music Contest
Since 1951, the World Music Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade has been the world’s most prestigious international festival for wind music, widely known as the “Olympic Games of Wind Music”.
Every four years, WMC brings together more than 20,000 musicians and over 300,000 visitors from every continent. The festival promotes musical excellence, innovation and cultural exchange, providing a unique stage where wind music in all its forms is celebrated.
The 75th anniversary edition promises to be both a celebration of tradition and a showcase for innovation. While honouring 75 years of rich heritage, WMC is also looking firmly towards the future and investing in the continued development of the international wind music sector.
