Geulwandeling Valkenburg

Geulwandeling Valkenburg

This walking route between Houthem and Valkenburg takes you through one of the most beautiful nature areas in South Limburg. Following the hiking junction network, you walk along the River Geul towards Château St. Gerlach, where nature and historic heritage come together. The route passes through the Ingendael nature reserve, with its open grasslands and the meandering River Geul, offering a varied walk through a peaceful and distinctive landscape.

Please note: Scottish Highland cattle in the area

Scottish Highland cattle graze in the Ingendael nature reserve and play an important role in its natural management. Keep a distance of at least 25 metres, especially when calves are present. Dogs must always be kept on a lead, as the cattle are protective of their young and may react aggressively if they feel threatened.

This walk is one of the 11 Camini routes. As you walk alongside the River Geul, you can let go of your thoughts, just as the leaves are carried away by the flowing water. A route that invites you to surrender to the moment.
